Is it iPad Mini today?

Apple lovers are expecting a mini version of their beloved tablet iPad with the uncertainty over the price. Though Apple hasn't revealed anything about it yet, but the iPhone 5 was similar to its already known specs, hence iPad mini seems to be well on the verge to be launched today according to analysts.

In the case of the iPad Mini, the analysts are expecting 7.5 – 8 inch device. Which means it would be slightly larger than the 7-inch tablets. Price could be the most crucial factor here for apple as most of the 7 inch tabs range from $150 – $230, means Apple could place it somewhere around $249 to $299. The price seems to be just about right but we will have to wait to see the official launch.

It is also expected to have the ability to access 4G cellular networks for an additional monthly fee and that's a feature the cheaper, 7-inch tablets don't have. According to the reports, Apple has sold over 84 million iPads since their debut in April 2010. One of the first competitors to appear in the tablet market was their arch rival Samsung with a 7-inch screen tab
.
Strangely, Steve Jobs had said that "The reason we wouldn't make a 7-inch tablet isn't because we don't want to hit a price point. It's because we don't think you can make a great tablet with a 7-inch screen," Jobs said. "The 7-inch tablets are tweeners, too big to compete with a smartphone and too small to compete with an iPad."

Apart from the mini iPad, Apple is also expected to refresh some other products. MacBook is expected to come in a version with a 13-inch, high-resolution Retina screen as the 15-inch MacBook got an option for a Retina screen this summer.
